Summary: What do we do when we disagree in congregations? Can we stand in face of disagreement? The story of Barnabas provides more than one example of how to stand against failure. Curtis summarizes the events that happened when Barnabas wanted to take John Mark on one of the mission journeys, but Paul did not want to because John Mark had dropped out of an earlier mission. They had to agree to disagree and go their separate ways. This type of disconnect is common to the human condition. But, God is able to work in relationships that are LESS than perfect! Think how God saw potential in Paul, who had carried out violence against the church; yet God saw potential in him, leading to Paul’s radical reorientation! Thank about Peter denying that he even knew Jesus, yet Christ forgave him.
