Summary: The story of the woman caught in adultery reveals several aspects of Jesus’ character. First, notice what a coincidence that the Jewish leaders have found this woman to parade in front of Jesus’ audience! And where is the man who was involved in the adultery? And finally, where are the two witnesses required by the Old Law? Obviously, this is a test of Jesus. Jesus began to write in the dirt and then stated that the one without sin should throw the first killing stone. One by one, the crowd dispersed, starting with the oldest first. The only one in the scene who fit the description “without sin” was Jesus Himself.
