Summary: Curtis briefly reviews the setting of the lesson text, where Barnabas returns to Antioch for a “check-in” to see how things are going. He was continuing his role as encourager for Paul and for the congregation. Encouragement is a partnership, such as prayer partners. This should be done with an awareness of the role of the Holy Spirit in the word of God, its power to change our lives. We all need to pay attention to our lines of communication with each other. That includes making sure we are available to teach and to be taught, whether in formal or informal settings. This type of partnership requires TIME. It is a Collaborative Ministry (Romans 15:30)!
