Summary: Curtis opens with a picture of an open-air bus, and he speculates on the types of warnings given to the passengers to prevent them from falling out. This is the type of warning that Paul gives the Philippians, warning against the dangers of boasting about one’s spirituality. As an example, Paul points to himself--stating that he could boast about his spiritual heritage, place in the Sanhedrin, and other things. instead, he realizes that he must guard against spiritual boasting, and instead he must count former riches as loss. The real aim of a Christian is to look forward and to press on toward the goal of heaven.
